I cooked a big chicken with a piece of pork for yesterday's lunch, I've stripped down the chicken and mixed it with gammon ham chunks, sauteed mixed mushrooms and onion and a creamy cheesy sauce. It's made good looking pie, even though I say it myelf, and I shall do buttery new potatoes and asparagus the brood have just come home with from the PYO Farm

Well have to admit, the words "leftover" and "cake" don't normally go together in my house.

Anyway, we're on roast beef. Was supposed to have it yesterday as the sunday roast, but we went to a BBQ instead.
leftover and cake don't belong in the same sentence!

Wasn't it little Tiggs boifday yesterday?
I forgot, you are not familiar with the notion of leftover cake B00 ;o)

I made 2 big cakes and loads of cupcakes for yesterday. There was a huge birthday cake and a peanut butter ring cake with chocolate and peanut butter sauce. There were a few pieces left so we're having them later. You are very welcome to come and help polish them off :o)
Yep, it was Little Tiggs' boifday Alba :o)

I'm feeling a bit icky at the moment though. Think I overdone it on the cake eating front, yesterday :o(
Dosa and chutneys for me :-)
Mmmm, I love masala dosas.
I'm doing pork leg steaks stuffed with apple, topped with apple butter, and wrapped in bacon.........

i have to say that i have no evening meal plans yet
Surprise for us, we're off out to friends!
Belated boifday greetings to little Tiggs xxx
roast pork, potatoes and leeks cooked in butter and cream, red cabbage with red wine vinegar, carrots and streamed broccoli. doc last week said my choloesterol completely fine.

no processed food. lots of fresh fruit and veg (mostly home grown), organic meat locally bred asnd from local butchers. fish from local harbour. bit of exercise ie gardening. non-smoking. therefore, butter and cream no problem.

i'm with you spikey. fresh wholesome food. I also make all jams, marmalades, pickles and fruit cordials. also do a good line in sloe gin.

until i knocked my elbow last august no need to go to docs for ten years.

Thank you Alba :o) xxx
well as long as you are happy fgt that's good.
I had a big lunch so I don't know about dinner. Probably something snacky.
Going to treat ourselves to a chinese takeaway this evening to make up for having to stay in due to bad weather ! Think I'll have beef in black bean sauce with fried rice - lovely.
sorry spikey, i wasn't referring to this particular meal - you just seem to have loads of mega meals, 3 courses, 2 puddings etc. No-one ever seems to have beans on toast cause they're only feeling a little peckish
also, why do you have so much booze in if you hardly ever drink?
I've declared a cook free day, so OH is off to the Chinese for a takeaway :)
Bednobs - her neighbour, Mercia, has clearly rubbed off on her!!
