Salted Caramel

What on earth is this latest fad for salted caramel all about? I've resisted it for ages but, because Waitrose had some Wensleydale with salted caramel heavily reduced, I decided to try a piece. This is not cheese as I know it (and I love "proper" cheese) - it is frankly disgusting. So I'll be giving salted caramel icecream a very wide berth.

Can't understand the thinking behind putting toffee in cheese, doesn't seem right somehow.

I love salted caramel but wouldn't eat it in cheese.

Salted caramel icecream is very nice and tasty. I was a bit put off at first but when I tried it I realised how nice it was.

Wasn't impressed by the salted caramel icecream.Can't remember the make but it was tasteless.

Cheese, no, diddly - salted caramel in chocolate or icecream, yes. I can't imagine who thought it would be good to put it in cheese!

Salted caramel with chocolate is divine...brings out the flavour. But in cheese??? That is just so wrong.
