just tried some silicon egg poachers .....disaster ,anyone else used them ?

Lining a ramekin with cling before cracking the egg in and then twisting to seal the cling is another way of poaching.

The clingfilm method has way better results than the pods, imo

Still think water is the best way though :-)
I have some and they are not that good. I do make pretty perfect poached eggs just with a pan and boiling water though so it's no big deal.

i always just broke them into water but i was trying to be a little posher lol
Mallyh - still reckon the old metal poachers are best. M & S about £13 but loads of other stores do them. Can't do links but just google egg poachers
They look prettier in a poacher...that's about it.

Honestly...they are great for baking.

couldn't get on with metal poachers i'll persevere with the silicon (it's the only silicon i'll ever get lol)
I now want poached eggs on nutty brown toast slathered with salty butter so hot it dribbles down my chin.....

i'll keep trying and if i have to many disasters i'll revert to just putting them in swirly water .x
The cling film method is very successful, I used to do them like that. The solicone thingies are pretty good though, once you've got the hang of them, saves a bit of faff fighting with the cling film...
