expect so if you can stand it ! I find strong black coffee does the trick
Your better bet is to sort out a diet that will keep your bowel working without assistance. What does the doctor say?
movical..one sachet in about a quarter pint of water produces a not unpleasant drink !

Will tell doctor when i go to next Fridays appointment.
I have been very bloated, not necessarily constipated some days.
My tummy aches all the time and mainly around the waist area!
Constantly tired, and find walking makes my tummy ache too. Normally i can walk for miles.
I'm with Woof on this one - do you know what is causing this sluggishness?

Increased plain fluids add some natural fibre can all help.

I am on strong codeine based meds at the moment and they slow me down , so I take Senna at night.

Yes do mention it to the GP.
sounds a bit more serious than occasional constipation...GP visit is necessary

Must admit I am a bit worried, as never felt so bloated and achy and put on weight (8 lb) I eat mostly good things, wholemeal stuff etc. (no sweetstuff)
I do have an ongoing bladder problem. App is for this month too.
I do take Senokot every other night, just to make sure I go to the loo and try to stop the very achy bloating out. Doesnt work though.
Question Author
I also have a lower backache that I've never had before.
No problem whatever normally.

Question Author

Hubbie tells me off for not eating enough, but appetite zero, as I feel full up even before meal times.
doc will probably want x ray or scan....
Question Author
I do hope doc sends me for a scan Murry, I really do.
Untill i have a scan or something, i wont know whether its kidneys, liver, bladder. I will patiently carry on and hope my bloated tummy disappears soon.
Thanks for letting me pour my heart out x I needed to talk it over.
puss ..stressing out will not help either...soonest seen by doc soonest mended..come here for chat whenever if it helps..good luck xx
Question Author
Cheers Murraymints, and Abers. Not stressed out so much, just blooming fed up not feeling well. Been a couple of months now.
It possibly doesn't help in this case, but a couple of years ago when I went to the chemist for a laxative (for my 95 year old mother who had problems "going") they advised using Fybogel - it's non-laxative (the pharmacist alleged regular laxatives make the bowel muscles lazy) natural fibre drink " [i] to increase the fibre in your diet helping your digestive system work more efficiently and gently relieving constipation the natural way" [i] .
It did work for my mother.
I wonder if it could be an intolerance to gluten? I still can't do links but Google gluten intolerance.
When I was taking codeine tablets my doctor prescribed cosmocol sachets ( same sort of thing as fybogel) and it does help.
Question Author
i pray it isnt intolerance to gluten. My neighbour has that and has caused her all sorts of problems finding things to eat that dont make her feel unwell.
I'm open minded as to what my problem could be.
My 11 yr old bladder problem has caused me headaches at times but am getting through it all ok.
