do we get beef / steak from dairy cattle - if not what cows or bulls do we get most of our beef / steaks products from in the uk ?

Only small breed cocks are utilised for pet food. Larger breeds are moved onto growing houses. Special feed has them table ready in 6weeks or less for poussins.
They mention broilers but not its specific sex. A hen has more value as an egg layer than for table meat.

depending on the breed tambo! hens of the breeds kept for egg laying don’t put on meat like hens of the breeds kept for meat. hens of the breeds kept for meat don’t produce sufficient eggs to be used for commercial egg production.
You can certainly get goat meat in the markets in Birmingham. People of Jamaican origin like to cook goat in curries.
