Does Anyone Shop At Morrissons?

I was told by someone that if you go just before closing that many goods are reduced. Is this true and does this include meats?

All major supermarkets reduce 'on the day' foods.
We do it 3 times a day; at 6am (by me!) by 25%, then down to 50% at 2pm and finally down to 10% of original price at about 7pm - we close at 10pm.
Just be careful though, there are 'professionals' who know evey store's routine and can smell a reduction machine and printer from about 3 miles away.
Also be careful, you don't want to be tarred with 'our' name for these people - 'The 19p Brigade'.

Yes I get a load of bargains , but you have to time it right, too early and the price has not gone down, too late and the best stuff has all been grabbed.
For example I got 5, 300 g packs of bacon all sealed vacuum packs for 19p each last week. I freeze them and get one out as I need it, tastes perfect!
I've also had a £12.50 'Party Cake' for £1.25
My Morrisons shuts at 10pm I find around 8 pm is bargain time . I have been known to hang around the shop waiting for them to reduce the prices!

Morrison's often aren't that good for what I call "cheapo chuckouts". They tend to only give quite small discounts (e.g. from £2.49 down to £2.19) for many hours and then, if the products still remain on the shelves, reduce them a bit more (e.g. down to £1.79 in my example).
The Co-Op (or. at least, our local co-operative society) are actually quite good for discounts, immediately giving a full 50% off everything which they put a yellow sticker onto.
Asda tend to start by offering small discounts but then, if products remain unsold, putting more and more yellow stickers on (with ever greater discounts). So I've seen £4 roast chickens reduced to 50p and big sacks of spuds offered for just 20p.
Tesco work on a similar basis but they don't seem to use as many yellow stickers. A £1.75 sarnie will initially be offered at, say, £1.35 but then, if still unsold, might dramatically drop to 10p.
Sainsbury's are among the best for giving significant reductions quite quickly.

^^^ Most supermarkets put all of their 'cheapo chuckouts' onto the same chiller shelves, except that fish products (and sometime fruit & veg) are often kept (or close to) their original locations.
Morrison's stores do sometimes keep their reduced fresh meats on the shelves next to the butcher's counter. (If they've just got one or two items they seem to go onto the 'general' shelves. If they've got large quantities, they stay by the butcher).

Agree with Chris about Sainsburys - It's our nearest supermarket and I've been known to pop in about 7pm to get some really good bargains.
Baldric - even Waitrose do it you know ;0))
In our place Produce final reductions have a separate table, Fresh Goods (meats, yoghurts, pizzas, Ready Meals, etc) have a marked 'Pit', Butchers have a separate table and Bakery have a stand near the front door. Until then they are kept in their displays with yellow reduction tickets.
Staff generally can't 'get to' the reductions because we work past the reduction times and we are not allowed to set items aside - it's classed as stealing and is sackable.
