This week has been a chilled avocado soup, just what was needed!
When I make lentil soup, it's go to stick to your ribs :-)
Mr Alba makes a lovely veg soup.

Hi Kate xx
I like veg soup, broccoli and Stilton, spicy carrot, potato and leek...most soups actually, but not from a can.
Butternut squash and sweet potato
Don't like tinned soup either Ummmm, I think they are filled with too much sugar and preservatives.
I have a memory of a soup thread where someone made a vegetable soup with chicken and then added a tin of soup. Never has my baffle been more baffled!
I confess Ecckles....one time I cooked steak and used mushroom soup as a sauce and passed it off as my own :-)
I've read your post a few times Eccles, your baffle was baffled?
I've got splinters from scratching me head lol
aah, that's completely different tho Ummm x
Alba, the soup was originally declared as vegetable but then it was said that it had chicken in it and then a tiny of soup was added.

I just found it all very confusing.

Sorry about the splinters :-)
lol, Eccles, don't worry about the splinters, I'm used to them.
(I'm easily confuddled!)

Talking of soups, anyone remember the ad where 2 guys were chatting and one of them said something like
'Pea n Ham soup? Frae a chicken? Now that's clever'
Difficult to pick a favourite. Cullen skink is nice. Cream of lobster too. And no, I've not actually made soup from scratch for a long while. But I don't mind tinned.
The worst Cullen Skink is to be sadly found at the Cullen Hotel. Tasted and looked like dishwater.

Properly made it is delicious.
I like chicken, Pea and Ham does come close but never tried to make my own. The worst soup I've ever had was in Malta, soup of the day was allegedly Mushroom, my mate described it quite accurately saying someone forgot to take their socks out of the soup.
Tomato and bacon. Squish a couple of tins of chopped tomatoes through a sieve, add stock or a cube, lots of scraps of bacon and some finely chopped onions. If you like to tart up soup, chop a few fresh herbs in when you serve it - chives, maybe.
Cream of leek and watercress.....hot or cold.
