Own Brand

I don't own brand of cereals - it must be Quakers porridge, Kelloggs etc.

There is a difference say between Lidl own brand and Kelloggs. Anybody feel the same.

I agree Redhelen - and I have noticed in some non-branded cereal there is a little less sugar.

Most things I'm okay with own-brand stuff. I get Asda's own brand Fruit & Fibre cereals, which are delicious and far cheaper than Kelloggs etc.

The only thing I get that I insist on getting the real stuff is Marmite.

I agree with Red, just the brand packaging is different contents the same. However they're notable exceptions depending on what your buying.

Not necessarily true. The factory might be the same but the recipe can be different.

Sometimes comparison sites show own brand as better. I don't eat cereals so can't comment on them.

They are similar but there maybe some differences in the recipe. You can tell by looking at the salt/sugar/fat content on the sides of the boxes.

Manufacturers might use the same ingredients but the percentages of individual ingredients might differ.

For me as an eg. Tesco own brand Battered fish is superior and tastier than 'Birdseye' or 'Youngs' brands and they both have a fame to claim.

Agree that most own brands have less sugar. Eating Kelloggs is a health risk!!

Only buy Aldi porridge oats, Branson baked Beans, Lidl Chocolate Spread and cereal.
