Haven't bought these in a long time but did so yesterday - was looking at directions on how to cook them when I noticed that the fish was Alaska Pollock - yet I remember buying them before and it always said 100% cod. Is Pollock ok.
I'll look out for that in future - they were Birds Eye who always do cod. Do think my lovely local fishie shop is using cheap fish too as that last one was not nice.
if you want quality try the giant fish fingers at Waitrose, usually £1 each but sometimes 4 for £3 or reduced on the app. The coating is very good. Unfortunately, for some reason, you cant add them to a delivery.
Lots of frozen fish products are sold as white fish. You have to read the small print on the back to find out what type it is. If it is cod it will say so on the front in big letters.
I don't like Pollock and I won't eat panga
Our local fish and chip shop sells a white fish called panga which is cheaper than cod. It is advertised as panga though so you know what you're getting.
