I have noticed how often people use the word incorrectly.
Your diet is the food and drink you consume for nourishment.
Dieticians are not confined simply to help people lose weight - some people have to gain weight whilst others may be advised of a suitable diet to help them alleviate problems with illnesses or other conditions.
I suspect some people could do with thinking about what they eat and drink.
Don't

We were not allowed any treats or 'junk food' Mother was very strict - used to lock the food cupboards up.
I vowed that once i had my own home I would eat what I want - the problem is I did far too much of it!
Diet now has a very negative effect for me

Mother was always baking bread which we were allowed she made cakes and sweets but it was so rationed.
She started putting me on diets at 11 which resulted in eating disorders by 16, I used to survive on a cheese triangle an apple and a crispbread.
I sometimes wonder if parents realise the damage they do in pursuit of their own perfection

I think some of us don't realise how much our mothers influenced us, even unintentionally. Mine hated cooking and from about 11 when parents split up I lived on ready meals and there was far less choice back then. I never experienced watching her bake and I assume that's mainly why cooking is of no interest to me.
Oh my I have just discovered a new recipe for flat breads/wraps
100g of flour and 120g of total 0% yogurt - mix and roll till smooth.
I split it into 6 and the rolled out till thin, cook in a dry frying pan until bubbling and cooked then flip and repeat. If want crispy bread for dips etc you can do the above then toast it.
I am going to experiment further by adding fresh herbs etc

If my mum heard me open the fridge late at night she’d rush to the kitchen to tell me I’d get fat.
Like redhelen I survived on minimal food in my late teens. My weekly shopping as a student was two tins of soup, a pack of Ryvita and maybe a couple of apples as a treat.
I now eat healthily, but I do have my mum’s short chunky legs and big bum. So that went well :/

Prudie, it would appear so. My mother encouraged both of her daughters to cook and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Cloverjo, we like you, just the way you are :)
Redhelen, I am amazed by that, do you mix them in a machine?
I can just imagine a huge sticky mass if done by hand. Sounds as though you will be making lots of variations on that recipe - go girl!
