I buy packets of frozen stir fry and cook it with a small amount of olive oil. If it gets a bit dry, I add water. How fattening is this?

Hi there - shouldn't be very fattening. A bit of olive oil is good for you, full of the good fats (don't remember what they are called now!). I even prefer it to the spray oils that are supposed to be less fattening.
one teaspoon of olive oil is about 80 calories and 9 grams of fat so if you're worried about it go for fry light which you can get in most supermarkets which is one calorie per spray and you'd probably need about 5 sprays to cook a stif fry

I wouldn't worry too much about the fat content. Olive oil is high in monounsaturated fats so is good for you. I probably would go for that rather than fry light spray as you get a better fry from proper oil.

Some people actually take a spoonful of olive oil a day because of its health benefits!

That's why I use olive oil, it gives the stir fry a nice taste. I am not so sure you would get the same results from the spray oil. Thanks for your replies. I will carry on eating it and enjoying it.
maggie, instead of olive oil I always use Toasted Sesame Oil for stir frying. The taste is out of this world and the fat content is much lower.
Olive oil is wrong for stir fry. You should be using ground nut oil or sesame as it works better at higher temperatures, which is what you need for good stir fry.
I have been using walnut oil lately on stir fry veg and also use it for roasted veg . That spray oil is vile .I am on a diet but would rather have a little good oil than that !
All oils and fats have virtually the same number of calories per 100g.

Toasted sesame oil is best added after stir frying as it burns at high heats, ideally ground nut oil is best (rather than use vegetable or sunflower) olive oil also can't cope with high heats but is better for you than the latter.
