fridge freezer

Is it worth paying a bit more for a frost free model. I heard they break down a lot more?

It may have just been the lick of the draw but we bought one, and after numerous engineers had been out, they finally agreed that it was faulty at the time of sale, we exchanged it for a no frost free, and no problems at all, that was four years ago.

Thanks still undecided but the the thought of no more defrosting is very appealing but like you say could create more problems than it solves.

I wouldn't have anything else. Owned one (Hotpoint) for 3 years (touch wood) no problems. Mum & Dad had same one (Zanussi) for 10 years - no problems, various friends ditto.

I personally wouldn't have any other now, well worth the extra money for me, hated the hassle of defrosting or a freezer crammed with ice. Have had no problems at all, it's an LG and is great.

it's worth having a frost free fridge. i have two for 15 years without any problems so far. (knock wood)

Here in the USA it would be hard to find someone who DOESN'T have a frost free one. I have a frost free fridge with freezer in the top - ours are over 5 feet tall. I also have a frost free freezer over 5 feet tall. I live alone - but I can take advantage of sales at the grocery store - and don't have to shop so often!
