hi all,
just wanted to know if i am useing the 3 day diet, will it interfere with my metabolism in any negative way at all? on my 2nd round now after eating normal for 4 days, and i only intend to do it one more time, although i really did not cheat but never lost 10 pounds after the first 3 days! but did slim down. also wanted to know, does it make a difference in what order each individual meal is eaten, for e.g, coffee 1st, then grapfruit, then toast, then peanut butter? do they have to be in that order exactly?
thanx for all the help i recieve, crystal

This "diet" works by encouraging you to eat salty food, then drink diuretics such as coffee. Yes you will lose weight in the short term because your body is becoming dehydrated, and the minute you come off the diet, and rehydrate yourself, you will be back up to your normal weight.
So although it will have little or no effect on your metabolism, it is not good for your body as it is simply dehydrating it
Well then we must be talking about a different diet, as the one I'm talking about only says 4 glasses a day, as well as advising you to drink coffee and eat saltene crackers and peanut butter.

Apologies if we're talking at crossed purposes

Chazza, I apologise. I have read the links that you posted and feel more informed. You are right, the diet does seem to be high in salt although I wonder how this compares to an average diet. The diet I used was slightly different in that you could drink as much water as you wanted (amongst other small differences) and I felt great whilst on it and very happy with the results and I have not piled the weight back on but I accept that I may be an exception. Sorry if I appeared brusque (must be lunchtime) ;-)
