You are better trying to let it defrost of its own accord. Mince tends to cook in some places while youre defrosting it. Maybe give it 5 mins start in mic break it up and leave it .
Yep have to say oldwoman is spoy on. This always happened to me now i leave it in the fridge over night, its safer too!
Put it in freezer bag, or similar, with no holes, push out air & tie knot. Place in sink/bowl of warm water, topping up occasionally. Break it up as it defrosts. NOT OFFICIALLY RECOMMENDED, but it works...
NEVER NEVER put FROZEN Beef/Lamd/Pork in warm water.if you can take it out the freezer night before and place in the Fridge for approx.
12/15hours and that will give you fresh tating meat..I was a BUTCHER for 35ys. and thats how to DEFROST Any frozen product OK
I reckon cheerydavie is right, and as well he should be with his experience in the field!
Surely it's OK to defrost all meat in the microwave as well though. So long as you use the defrost setting, 20% power on mine, and cook it all straight away.

bricks
That's me told!
the quickest and safest way is to put it in a freezer bag of COLD water and leave on the counter...it thaws quite quickly but keeps the water chilled as it does so...every half hour (depending on the room temperature) change the water but ensure it is always COLD water...I've done this for years and never had any problem...cant believe anyone would recommend putting it in hot water though!!!
