Traditional Sunday Roast.....
27 Answers
My husband enjoys cooking & still likes to make a traditional Sunday roast dinner. I know I shouldn't complain as it's always delicious & just as good as the ones I make.
However, the 'tradition' can sometimes drive me up the wall & I'd rather just have a snacky lunch.
Anyone else out there who still enjoys the trad lunch?

I cheated today and got takeout from Barbuito as was out shopping. Not usually in at lunchtime on a sunday and rarely have lunch on a weekend.

He, he, you lot - I'd better not let on to my husband then!
Todays Menu was: Roast lamb, roast potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, brocolli, with mint sauce & home made gravy!
Husband drank white wine & soda & as I'm not a boozer, I had Robinson's Orange Barley water!!!!
I must say, it was exceptionally delish!

we very rarely have a roast on a Sunday, we are all busy doing things so sometime I will do a roast on a Thursday, but it makes it extra special for everyone when I do cook a roast as those times are not that frequent :( in fact my daughter jokes that Xmas is the only time she gets a roast dinner or when she goes to her Nanna's for lunch. Oh btw we don't eat our main meal at lunchtime either, we have it in the evening
Hi smudge, No roast in this house either! I cooked midday for more than 25 years - then realised how much of this precious day was being spent in the kitchen with no time for anything else.
So now it's sandwiches and fruit midday, then out with the bins and 'scope - and in the evening we sit down and relax with whatever - but 'whatever' is always accompanied with wine :-)
