The other night I made a pie and followed the recipe exactly. On top of the pie was potato and grated cheese, then I put it in the fan oven for half an hour

I noticed the next day that the inside glass front of the oven was completely covered in some kind of sticky foodstuff, which I can only assume was the cheese

The pie hadnt cooked out or burnt, and this wasn't anywhere else in the oven, and this has never happened before. Can anyone explain why this happened?

dont have a fan oven but do you think the fan part had something to do with it, maybe blew the top layer off the pie onto the glass?, well its a theory anyway lol

I dont think the fan would be strong enough to do that, would it?
Are you sure it hasn't been there for some time? It sounds like it could just be grease or a fat build up.

Nope definitely not, I had just cleaned out the bottom of the oven the day before and would have noticed!
