Afternoon All,

What (in your opinion), is the only acceptable mustard to serve with steak?

(There is a right answer to this by the way ;0) )

Freshly made English?
Cheers, Andy
Dijon
Must be Colemans obviously, preferably hand made but from a jar is acceptable, anything else is just wussy!
Why do I only get one star??! Cheek! Hardly fair is it!?
Question Author
Well I did say there was a 'right answer'.... And William got that.

Andy politely said cheers so he got an extra start.

And you Jonny were just completely wrong!

So there!
None whatsoever.
no mustard at all......it shud be served with horseradish sauce.....

and chips, peas n salad !!
Well, I shall disregard your star allocation from having any merit seeing as how you freeze your steak and then have it medium what do you know!? Pah! Amateur!

I bet you buy your Dijon mustard from the supermarket and if you look at the label youll find its made in Norwich by Colemans! Its created for the wusses that cant handle the real stuff! ;-)
Ketchup!
French mustard is nice and not as strong either

Funnygirl - That's just terrible.... tut, tut... ;0)

Shakes Head
Colemans Mustard , not any of the imposters , but I do like a very hot horseradish sauce as well . All down to personal taste , just enjoy it !!
French's American mustard,

MMMMmmmmmmmm
No-one's suggested Tewkesbury mustard yet. It's a mix of English and horseradish - but not easy to get.
I make my own with Dijon mustard (from France!) and horseradish from Morrisons!

Yummy
Hello again! How about "Arugula"?
Cheers,
Andy
I've never had a steak in all my of my 33 yrs !
Pollianna - you have been missing out on one of life's excellent eating experiences. I hope you enjoy your first one!
Come on China, what's the correct answer then?
Cheers, Andy
PS No steak tonight but my boys are out fishing this evening so I'll have some incredibly fresh mackerel for supper.
I wouldn't know what to do with one. It really doesn't have any appeal.
China Doll, I just about put ketchup on everything, especially steak and chips!!!
My son has a serious addiction to cranberry sauce, which he puts on everything, even curry!!!!!
Turns my stomach, not to mention costing me a fortune!!!!!
Don't you dare put bloody French mustard on steak. Bloody capitulating bunch of runaway cowards they are!!!

English is the best, and as said Colemans is perfect.

Also when you fry the steak spash some Lee and Perrins Worcestshire sauce in the pan.
