My daughter recently tried a tin of spaghetti and hotdog sausages and she loved the sausages. However, there was a lot of 'rubbish' listed in the ingredients (it was all that was available where we were at the time). Are there any alternatives to them (can be vegetarian) with a similar taste and texture? Thank you.
I was veggie for a few years and at the time (about 5 years ago) you could get cans of veggie beans 'n' sausages that were pretty similar to the meaty ones (that are pretty much all rusk anyway!). I'd guess they're still available now
Thank you thewillow and saffstar for your answers. I didn't really explain it very well! I am after the sausages on their own, not necessarily in beans or spaghetti. I have seen frozen hotdog sausages and ones in tins too and I wondered if anyone could recommend some with the least amount of additives etc., that taste nice too. Thank you.
most supermakets will sell frankfurter type sausages - probable near the ham in the fridge section. herte is a make which is taste great but am not sure of the amount of rubbish in them... i love hothogs!
In my Vegetarian days I used to buy sausages by a brand called Tivall. You can get them from most supermarkets, and are identical in taste and texture to hotdog sausages.
As they are veggie, they have no pig lips or cheeks in them.
