Frozen Liver

My son has given us some liver that has been in his freezer since last July and I would like to know if it will still be ok to eat? Please answer before midday today if poss, thank-you.

Is it already defrosted? If it smells "vinegary", bin it.

Personally I can't stand the stuff but cook it every so often for my OH.
leave it in waterproof bag and soak in tap water to thaw. If it smells okay when thawed it should fry well with onions & drop of water for gravy. yummy with buttered smash.
it will go nicely with some fava beans and a nice chianti

Thanks to tamborine and Chuckfickens, we`ve smelt it and it seems ok.
