Chorizo sausage

I bought a chunk of chorizo sausage from the deli counter a few days ago and the use by date printed on the label is the 20th March. I thought sausage like that kept for a lot longer, can I still use it?

Some food items you can freeze and keep as long as you use within about a month - if you did'nt freeze this, or it does'nt say on the packet that you can freeze it - i would not use it at all, as you may get food poisoning as a result, if you do. Throw away and buy fresh - it just is'nt worth the risk.
