yes! when deep frying them, make sure you use a spatula to press down the edges, they will then turn out fine...................
You may be using too much oil.
says here to press it down with a fish slice

Welsh, i tried to press the edges down but obviously not fast enough, it just curls up in an instant.

flob, how much oil should i use?
I use about a centimetre but saying that the popaddums be out of a packet, I don't make them myself, do you?
Question Author
flob, they r out of a packet, plasticky look, they you put a piece in the oil and watch it rise and curl up :(
Can I come round and eat the curly ones you dont want?
Well I just have never had bother. About 1cm of hot oil, put them in individually and take em out after about 10-15 seconds. Can't say much more I'm afraid bear.
Question Author
grass, im afraid i still eat them curly ones, but i am happy for u to come round and share sum of ma popadoms :)
The easiest way with those is to microwave on high for about a minute it depends on your wattage , but after a couple of goes you will find the right level and is so easy.

hmm dont really like the idea of microwaving them plasticky thing....although might be more healthier?
Grill them; no fat, nowt - just straight from packet.......dont eat too many as they give you wind!

Keep away from me!
Microwave them , you have to stand and watch them though , worth it in the end : )
you will be surprised- I was, at first I used to brush them with oil but now don`t bother and they are fine. Experiment with all the above till you find one that suits. Aren`t you tempted to just try one LOL
Ive had sweet and sour chicken and rice for tea tonight .....with POPADUMS mmmm
Question Author
hmm grilling and microwaving them sounds soo wrong! but i might try the microwave one as our grils dodgy. am, so how long do i put it in the mirowave for?
press for a minute but check after 40 secs each micro and indeed each brand of poppadum is different and ince you know which is right jot it down
a toaster is good - if they're small....no pressing needed.
Question Author
tamborine, how is toaster gonna work?? its making it from scratch, not the ready made ones?
omg...from scratch - you need lentil flour. Get to Tesco's & save yourself lots of trouble.
