Morning everyone,

Recently I have been eating a little bit better than I normally would - mainly out of support, but there are benefits to my health as well!

But what I am really looking forward to is this coming weekend when all bets are off and I will resume my gluttonous norm.

So these past few weeks have been weeks of "looking forward to..." various food.

As such I have some new favourite websites, which I am to share:

For a start I really want a doughnut of some sort: http://voodoodoughnut.com/menu.php These guys really seem to know what they're doing!

Recently I've been craving greasy-deep-fried-monstrosities. While I don't think this site has it down exactly, I think it is a place for ideas (and heart attacks): http://www.thisiswhyyourefat.com/

So, my questions:

What are you looking forward to, food wise?

Do you know of any good UK doughnut shops which are worth a pilgrimage?

All the best,

Spare Ed

My cousin swears by a doughnut shop in Milton Keynes. They sell them in boxes of 16 and he eats them in one sitting.

I don't know what I'm looking forward to. I will tell you tomorrow.
Fish and chips tonight (maybe) and bacon rolls for breakfast.

And going to the zoo.

I wouldn't tell anyone if I knew of a good dougnut shop. Or any good food place really. I don't love most people enough to share that kind of information.
<tear trickles down cheek as CD's doughnut shop goes bust because of lack of custom>
I forgot it was Friday. I'm looking forward to some sort of fish.
when did the eds start asking questions ?
jno - I don't think anywhere I buy food from is likely to go bust! ;0)
'tis a heavy burden, China, having to keep the nation's doughnut farms afloat through your own efforts.
For ages Anne.
You should see my tireless work on places that sell thai calamari, fry-ups and chicken kickers with spicey sauce...

It could well be. He gets the ones with a sort of caramel icing. I couldn't even finish one, let alone a whole box.

Off to Ludlow Food Festival today and if I'm paying £4 park and ride and £7 each for entry (£14 total) plus petrol money, I'm gonna make sure I get my moneys worth and gorge myself on free samples!

apparently the Ritz was giving away smoked salmon this week, and there was free Pimms and everything, only I didn't know about it. Next year maybe

I got a doughnut maker for a tenner in Lidl's this morning. Shall be testing it out shortly. The recipe that came with it makes enough for 50 doughnuts so there will be plenty to go round!

I'm looking forward to 3 nights in a hotel next week with breakfast and dinner included. No children, no cooking, no washing up - food always tastes much better when somebody else makes it.
Best doughnuts are the ones they make "while you wait" usually at fairgrounds or by the seaside....hot, stodgy and gorgeous.
