What size would it be for a tenner?
Even I can't boIIocks things up in a slow cooker.

Is it a small one? if I had a small one, I might use it more often.
Its a good size MM -not sure of how many litres it holds but its as big as you can get I would think for a slow cooker.
Argos are doing a 3.5 litre slow cooker reduced from £20 to £9.99.
What functions do slow cooker have that the more pricey ones have and the cheaper ones don't or are they all the same except size wise?
Had slow cookers for over thirty years .On my third one .Best bit of kitchen gear ever invented .
Depends really how big you want it .Is it for two people or for a family .I've got a Morphy Richards oval 6.5 litre . Big enough for a joint or stews etc .Could not be without it especially in the wintertime .
ASDA do a small one JJ.Would be handier for you.
shaneystar2 sounds good but best kitchen gear? Even better than a steamer?
I bought one a couple of years ago......it's brilliant.....it's still in the box.
I've got a steamer but that doesn't cook melt in mouth the brisket of beef .
shaneystar2 looks like we have a winner, slowcooker-1, steamer-nil point.
This is the one I have from Tescos -its 3.5ltrs.Its the one the they have on offer in our store for £10.I use it at least 4 times a week for soup mainly or a stew.Nice smell to come home to:)

Thank you all for your replies - I shall toddle off to Tesco tomorrow and get one. I have a Murphy Richards at the mo but it's just giving up the ghost.
I, also, wouldn't want to be without my steamer. Thanks again x
