I have just bought a beautiful goose egg, and its bl**dy huge ! Does anybody have any idea how long this should take to boil, for a soft-boiled treat ? I can't weigh it unfortunately, as I don't have a set of scales here in my caravan

Thanks OG... I was estimating about 8 mins myself. It cost 99p, which is a bit expensive but judging by my other post today, I do seem to be spending an awful lot of food this weekend !

Eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we may die. Not sure who said that but I 100% agree !
It's biblical Mikey! Enjoy your egg;-)
You got yourself a bargain, they're £6.99 in Waitrose!!!!
each??!!

thud...
I got one from my daughter and I made an omelette with it . Enough to feed two lol.

Eccles...that was 99p for one, not half a dozen, but the person who sold it too me was able to point out the goose responsible, which is something even Waitrose can't do !
Yes, Mikey at Waitrose they are £6.99 EACH.....like I say you got yourself a bargain!
people buy them??
But the ones at Waitrose, is there the chance of finding the golden one among them?
There'd need to be at that price.
at that price I'd expect the goose to come round and cook its own flaming egg
I went to a local farm shop today and they were £2.25 each. Apparently they have very little white in them so are fantastic for quiches.

Update on the Goose Egg situation !

8 mins proved just right. And it was absolutely delicious. Am going to get another one on Monday, for 99p and try frying it this time !

Still can't believe that they were so expensive in Waitrose. £6.99 each !
I know is supposed to be something special when it comes to supermarkets but the local shop in the Cornish village where I am at present proves much better value for money.
Mikey, do they taste stronger than a hen's egg?
Question Author
No Psybbo, they taste just the same as hens eggs, as do duck eggs as well. If you had your eyes closed when eating them, you would know the difference. Apparently you can eat Turkey eggs as well, which I have yet to try.
Thanks Mikey, I've only eaten hens' eggs
mikey, I bet they are lovely, scrambled.
We get them round here at the farmers market for the same price .
90p each last time I was there .I love ducks eggs too .They are great for baking and tasty boiled with soldiers .A quid a dozen on the local market .
Haven't had a goose egg, but love duck eggs.
