can anyone tell me some of the signs that a graphics card may be breaking down please. many thanks in advance. i`m not sure if this is connected to my earlier question or not

Try turning the card off in bios or remove it and see if the mobo graphics are the same as what you are getting now.
I am certainly no techo but afaik a graphics card either goes or doesn't go. Does it show any problem in your device manager?
Have you tried checking the RAM on the motherboard?
