Update on Salathiel Ludlam - he was the son of John Ludlam and Elizabeth Storer nee Turner who married in 1838. Am still delving into the other Ludlams and am convinced the Isaac Ludlam involved in the Pentrich Revoluton is related, but am working on the facts first. If either of you have since found anything out I would be glad to hear it.

It does look like he was trying to normalise his name but as you say he just disappears off the face of the earth. I cannot find anything after 1891 even trying any variation of his name whatsoever!

Have just found a George Ludlam on 1901 a lodger living in Sheffield Yorkshire RG 13/4361 single, general labourer born 1842c - could be a possibility.

Theres a George as head in 1901 census, married to Ann. He is a coal miner and they have 4 children
