I read somewhere that some libraries have free access to Ancestry.co.uk. I emailed my library asking if mine was one of these.

Hey presto it is. Apparently its paid for by the county council and totally free to use for members.

I will be booking myself a slot before too long. Nice one huh!

We don't have Ancestry.co.uk (although I have a private subscription), but we do have access to a number of genealogy databases. Some of them you have to physically go to the library to use, but some are available from home if you have a login.

By using these services, you help to keep up the demand for library services and thus help convince national and local governments that libraries' funding should not be reduced.

Craft I can understand that. At the mo everytime I get started on something my husband wants to talk or go out somewhere etc.

I'm wondering if a few trips to the library will give me a bit of piece to get on a bit.

Don't get me wrong, he is a gem, but sooo active bless him. I often liken him to a hyperactive child lol.

ohh saxy, I dont know if its possible to log on from home yet but once I get started I will see how the land lies on that one.
