Not for me, but I have been discussing Geniology with a relative who has a different surname and family to mine.

I google her surname and have found for her the whole tree going back to the 1600s with relatives all over the world.

It was done by a relative who has passed away and apparently left on line in the authors memory,

Interesting reading,

Fantastic find droopdrawers!

But with anything online, I always check the originals.

I remember my grandfather's half sister did our tree back to William the Conquerer. It was only when I got interested I realised that what she had done is found a knight of a similar name to ours and made great leap of faith FORWARDS!!! It took me ages to explain.........

I gather it has been checked by another interested party Barmaid .

No such luck with my own tree tho lol..

If it is a tree submitted by a member of the LDS church, they often just add dates and names of people that they know existed, as opposed to using actual primary source entries, and so check and double check,
It must get confusing with all the US citizens who are related to royalty or Bonnie Prince Charlie.

My brother is/was doing our tree - but it is time consuming.
Time consuming?! Nah!

I very foolishly at the age of 18 and on holiday from college, turned up at my then BF's house and said "today we are going to trace our family trees". 21 years later, I am still doing the same tree. Actually, thinking about it, my relationship with my family tree is the longest relationship I have had. I married the then bf but subsequently divorced him.

Perhaps I should just marry Family Tree Maker and have done with it.
I volunteer in an Oxfam book shop - I found some Kennel club books from the 1950s and Bull stud books from a similar period this afternoon. Any help?

To hold my attention when I get too frustrated at not getting the answers I want, I have taken to drifting from one side of the family to the other.
