Can you still have bridesmaids at registry office weddings?
I'm not sure why they're getting married at a registry office, the bride (not sure about groom) has been married before, but I would have thought they'd have enough money to find a church/cathedral in London or some castle somewhere scenic to get married in.
Plus neither have children, and I'm the closest young female on the brides side, plus the groom has a sister but we're not sure how old she is (probably at least 30) or if there would be anyone else suitable. But they're quite posh and will probably be going for a big posh wedding. I'm not getting my hopes up, but do you think they'll ask me, that is, if you can have bridesmaids at registry office weddings?
I have seen plenty of bridesmaids at registry office weddings. One couple had 5 and a page boy.
There are many reasons for not marrying in a church, the main one being the couple don't believe in God so the vows would be absolutely meaningless.
Gosh, the groom's sister really is elderly isn't she? If she is at least 30 she will probably want to spend the day at home knitting and drinking horlicks
At York Registry Office by the time you'd packed in the bride(with big frock) the bridesmaids (with big frocks) and the 2 witnesses, there'd be no room for any guests.
Posibly Hc I'm not sure about her other wedding . . .
Mrs_O, plus she has downs syndrome or something similar, on the otherhand they may want her as one to <struggles to word sentence> make her part of it more and more special (sh'es not married) If you know what I mean . . .
Do you really think that they should pick a bridesmaid (assuming that they choose to have one) who is so critical of their choice of wedding venue and of their choice not to spend their (assumed) fortune on it? It's their wedding, their day and their preference.
Stop being so judgemental and selfish, perhaps if you knew the couple better and were less critical they just might choose you?
mollykins - it is THEIR day, chosen by THEM, for THEM. It sounds like you want them to have a day that is more suited to you.
You are not doing yourself any favours on this post!
wow it does Craft, maybe they picked there because it looked nicer than all the one's that must be a lot nearer to them.
mrs_O I'm not saying where they should/shouldn't have THEIR wedding, jsut that it's odd they didn't pick somewhere more romantic, I'm allwoed to have an opinion aren't I.
