Uk Policy Change On Syria
The UK now accepts that Assad can stay on in Syria.
// The UK accepts that Bashar al-Assad should be allowed to run for re-election in the event of a peace settlement in Syria, Boris Johnson has said, in a dramatic reversal of the British policy stretching back to the early days of the civil war that the president must go. //

it would be funny if hundreds of thousands hadn't been killed while we pratted about for the last 6 years.

I have said continuously for the last few years on here and elsewhere, that the UK and the Obama-led USA, should work with Russia to rid anyone trying to overthrow Assad- the legitimate ruler, whatever you think of him - and countless lives would have been saved and Europe would not have been overrun by immigrants.
Why do you not listen to me ? :0)
I predicted Brexit and Trump, and for the record, I now predict Le Pen and the demise of Merkel this year.

“Arrest Assad and take him to the Hague,…”
For trial, presumably. But why bother? He’s already been convicted:
“How anyone can even think of allowing Assad to stand in democratic free elections, when he is a war criminal is beyond me.”
Best just have him arrested and shot. Cut out the middleman.
"...and Syria was invaded by foreign Jihadists, who fought dirty with chemical weapons and mass murder of civilians."
Whom the UK was willing to support at one time. Only the good sense (for once) of the Commons prevented it. Mrs May has the right idea which she announced today: we should (and hopefully will, for a while at least) keep out of matters that don't concern us and which we don't properly understand (either through accident or design).
