Islam spread initially through absorbing pagan christian and jewish teachings in arabia and then spread mostly by conquest again killing or converting rival faiths. Both of them used plenty of force.

The word of Islam as spread very fast in many of are cities and towns in UK where its the majority religion. Thats by famly upbringing, word of mouth, education, indoctrination, whatever you want to call it but definately not by war, naomie

Am sure it is emmie although a larger proportion of Muslims are fairly strict muslims and attend mosques (men at least) and children after studyislam and pray at home whilst many who claim to be christian are not commited to it.
But a was meaning that there are some towns where Islam is the main religion- mosques everywhere, always lots of attenders
