I understand it's not the best climate for such a thing but you have to consider health and safety issues.. it sounds too dangerous to me.
I wish you well x

Could you phone your doctor and ask her to either do a home visit or arrange for psychiatric nurse to visit you there?
Have you got friends or family, someone you can trust to help you get to the doctors? You need someone very calming to help you get over the panic you feel when leaving the house.
How about phoning NHS direct this weekend and asking them to help you. The out of hours services might be able to arrange a visit from someone appropriate to assess you and possibly prescribe some meds to help you.

so your agoraphobia is so bad you can't get to the surgery, but as an alternative, you dont mind going out to get drugs?
I have to say, sorry you are in this situation, but i am with your doctor here - you were well enough to get to work in the morning, yet refuse to get to the surgery? You could have gone into the gp on the way home from work i guess. Your doctor wont prescribe you the talets YOU think you should have, rather they will need to make an assessment and prescribe you what they think you should have, and it will be impossible to assess over the phone, so they will need to see you. are you seriously not going ut at al? who is getting your drink? Having diazepam will not stop you having a seizure so i really think you need to talk to your boss about doing something different. If you are drugged up on diazepam you shouldnt use heavy machinery or work at heights anyway.
from what you have written it dosent seem unreasonable for the doctor to expect you to go to the surgery and be assessed. people with mental health problems like you are describing can often come across as quite manipulative, and put the onus of control onto other people rather than themselves ie "shes making me more anxious and worried" "doctor shouldnt be forcing me into this situiation" "she demanded i come innto clinic "
Anyway, i realise this all probably makes me sound horrible but trying to show you how it would seem from the other side.
if you don't get on with the gp you can either change to one at the same surgery or to another surgery. However, there is no guaruntee they als wont refuse to do a home visit for you

bednob u havent a clue about agrophobia, are u a doctor? u were suggesting i am lying? by going to a local hood i mean i could easily get in touch with someone who has diazepam..same as someone with arthritis who wants dope/ hash..understand...u say diazepam doesnt treat my condition-why did my old doc prescribe me them for agrophobia? also anti depressants too ..not that they done me any good..yes i did go into work this morning..then i started getting paranoid and anxious and that makes me more anxious and nervous,,its like a vicious circle,, then i knew i had to go home right away,i was getting the fear..the fear of taking another turn...do u understand that? i am not a manipulator im not crafty enouigh..im genuine and i shouldnt of posted this on here,,thats how bloody genuine i am ...also talk to my boss to ask him can i do something different? brush the yard u mean ? before critisising me and calling me a liar and a manipulator go and learn a bit more about this condition , i casme on here to tell the truth and get advice not to be insulted...please i would like to hear from anyone who suffers with agrophobia...tomorrow...im away to bed...
hey sorry i made you feel bad. Howeveri maintain if you can go to work, you can go to the gp surgery. Having diazepam WILL NOT stp you having a seizure - only anti epileptic medication can do that. I know nothing of your work situation, only that if you are at risk of fits you should not be doing the jobs you are doing, and you really shouldn't be operating machinery if you are on diazepam
you are right that i cant understand what its like to get agoraphobia, but surely if you felt well enough to go to work, then you are well enought to go to the gp? Why blame her for your predicament when you are making it worse yourself by drinking and refusing to go to the surgery?
i'm sorry, you are right i really don't understand Personally, i dont recall calling you a liar and a manipulator, just saying that you could be construed to be ebing manipulative by your doctor - probably part of the reason they are refusing to come out and see you

Completely agree with Bednobs and before you ask, yes, I have some experience in this area.
The doctor needs to make an assessment of your needs. Without seeing you they can't make that assessment. You were and have been able to go to work in the past, as much as I sympathise, that does mean you can get to the GP's. If nothing else, order a taxi and get there or at the very least ask for a different doctor. Right now, you're compoundng the problem.
Mental health issues also have a degree of manipulation about them. Not in the sense of being deliberately false or evil but in the sense that perspective is blown out the window and people seek for others to see their perspective rather than see it from theirs... It's the nature of the beast and humanity in general but it is magnified with depressive states. And yes, I know a degree of info about these too.
No, it's not unresonable for you to get to GPs. Yes, you are able to do this. Yes it's scary. Do it. You need help, you're looking for help, help is there but you need to step up to get the help too. If you need more support why not google some mental health charities? Could be useful.

Of course your doctor won't prescribe medication without seeing you, particularly with something like diazepan which is addictive.
Why did you change doctors in the first place? Did you move to a new area?
You say you have a history of alcholism and you are drinking again. Could that be why the GP wants to see you in the Surgery rather than visiting you at home.
You seem to have a lot of problems and you need to see the doctor. Being angry with her ultimately wont help you. Your best bet is to go and see her, get a friend to go with you if that helps.
Good luck.

ok ok i dont want to argue about this anymore, i was uptight last night and angry with my doctor,,,
but.....people need to understand agrophobia..somer days good some bad..i was fine for a full 2 yrs,on top of it..then BAM!! down like a tonn of bricks..i should of mentioned that 4 yrs ago i was confined to my house for 3 weeks because of "the fear" of venturing outdoors....then i got myself together, just because someone has agrophobia doesnt mean they cannot work in construction, thats rubbish..and also diazepam as some might know helps relax the nervous system thats why my previous doc prescribed them to me without having to see me..so when my nerves are settled im less anxious hense less likely to take a "turn"...do u understand now?.it comes and goes, stress and depression bring it on....i would suggest you read and understand it before answering...
but i want this led to rest now, dont really want anymore answers as i shoudnt be wingeing about it or my problems on this site...i dont want people judging me when they know absolutely nothing about me..thankyou.....i want to me happy today :-)

I am so sorry you are in this bad part of your life right now, I do understand that some doctors have a terrible 'bedside' manner, I used to have one that 'couldn't be bothered'. Its like a conveyer belt and we are all just a number to the NHS. However, perhaps talking to your surgery's Practice Manager could help and asking for a second opinion ? I will keep my fingers crossed for you, I sincerely hope you get through this.
