You'll notice that a tube coming out of the aircon comprssor goes to its own smaller radiator (usually just in front of the car's radiator) from which the cold air is directed to the outlets in the car. My guess is the air conditioner has lost its charge of gas and needs to be replaced (the gas that is) or the compressor has failed, in which case you need to become reaquainted with your rich uncle! Best of luck!
Clanad is correct as an a/c engineer myself hes hit nail on head, the air con radiator or condensor to give its proper term has probably lost gas charge through damage, its easy to check at a air con firm, will charge about 75-125 depending where you live to check and regas system,if its compressor u/s youre looking at about 600-over a grand depending on make/ model of car .Hope this helps.
