My back boiler is constantly firing up every 30 secs and is taking ages to heat any water. Any clues would be gratefully accepted!

....er.........sorry Dave, but I don't understand this...............is your back boiler at the back of a solid fuel fire?
Question Author
Er, sorry, it's a gas appliance
usually with gas Dave..............it's best to get it looked at professionally. It's often just a sensor/thermostat or something like that :o)

The council has sent their finest man to sort the problem and he's changed the pump. Hasn't made a blind bit of difference, so now they're going to flush the system. It looks like a cold winter ahead!
Thank you for your input The Builder, I really do need to consult a professional.
is it a baxi back boiler?

is it working ok on central heating or not?
Question Author
Don't panic, folks!
The council has given up and they're going to install a complete new system in a fortnight.

Ain't life grand!
you wont say that when your flow of hot water is crap and the new boiler keeps breaking down!
Question Author
gucciman, you might be right. I have a large brown stain on my kitchen ceiling from the mucky water in the old tank that the plumbing cowboys failed to remove.

Ain't life not too good?
