Locks 'n bolts
Can someone tell me the official name of this type of bolt please, I'm sure it must have one.
here
Where have all the old fashioned hardware stores gone?...the nice man in a brown overall & a pencil behind his ear would know what I meant by 'twisty, bolty thingy' (even if it hadn't been invented).

have had a stressing day today looking at sofas and kitchens with a grumpy DH denying that he was grumpy AND it was his idea to go out in the first place AND I am not supposed to have alcohol because some babyfaced GP said that my blood test results were "borderline"...anyway i had some wine tonight and feel way better so pooh to her...feeling really childish tonight.
Anyway DH is out all day tomorrow visiting FIL and helping him to get sorted so I have to deal with plasterer who is coming to mend the hole in the kitchen ceiling (loooooooong story) so am feeling a bit grumpy myself...may need to go play on ebay to cheer myself up!! The pashminas are a great price and so much more stylish than thermogene.does anybody else think i may have had a bit tooo much wine hic?
night night
PS couldn't get Wallender at all, am devastated to hear no more Kingdoms, what does anybody think of the US ver of Life on Mars?

Oh hurty ribs, that is nasty, no coughing or laughing but I think sex will be ok? (There\'s always a silver lining).
I opened the front doors and was hit by chill air, yay, bring it on. I do hope winter is here, and I do apologise cos I know my winter is not as severe as yours, but we do have excessive damp (and not just in the underwear!) and no damp-proof courses in these old houses so it can get very cold!

Sex Neti!!!! You must be joking................ It\'s the last thing in the world I feel like at the moment!!!!!
I have coughed and coughed nearly all night. Not a chesty cough - just in the base of my throat, but it\'s making me retch and retch and retch and choke, and now my head aches from retching and choking (and sneezing and blowing).
I shall blame jno for
starting this whole coughing thing................ The sciatica seems a bit better and the ribs aren\'t quite as bad.
I\'m off back to my bed shortly to try and catch up on some sleep. I have dozens of bulbs to plant out and I am so frustrated.
I saw a lovely picture of a very pretty lady on Facebook last night ;o). She lives in Spain..............

good morning...tut neti, where did you get that idea? have you been loitering in cb?
It's not bulb planting weather here today, it's very Novemberish, grey, wet, misty and downright miserable....like my mood. Think I'll do some internet window shopping...if you like Clarks' shoes they've got a sale on...

as a matter of fact, Lottie, that does sound like exactly what I've got. I've had it since late August and so far it's baffled medical science... or at any rate the pathetic excuses for medical science that occupy the local GP surgery. I sincerely hope you have better luck.
I will say zopiclone has helped - it's just a sleeping pill and my GP gives them out very reluctantly; but a decent sleep does give your throat a chance to rest, meaning less coughing (and less time to cough) the next day.

bless my soul, what has a lowly worm like I done to deserve such luck? I've just been back to my GP and this time I actually got a courteous young man who talks plain English and was happy to tell me what was going on - which is that I've got pneumonia. (A possibility you might like to consider, Lottie, since your symptoms seem so like mine). He's given me some heavy-duty new antiobiotics and says if I go back in a week and haven't got better he'll whisk me into hospital for IV antibiotic treatment. So I have every incentive to get well pronto.
mmm, yes neti, you've been pulling the sheet up again haven't you?
Ooh, crikey jno...but I'm sure that now you're on the correct medication you'll be better in no time, we can't all be gathered around with the knitting & woman's weeklies while you're having a bedbath can we? And they won't let you put your slippers in the microwave you know...maybe if you asked nicely they'd pop them on the hostess trolley while they serve the lunches....No, no, I really think you need to get well pdq!
These long term medical mysteries seem to be everywhere...my neighbour's had virtually no voice for months, but it is improving. She's had it investigated & it's nothing sinister, next stop speech therapy to strengthen her muscles...or something like that.
I wish my insides would calm down, every few days I'm a bit 'iffy'...maybe I'd better give the old portable a dusting down ...

jno - don't mention hospitals to me!!! Help>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Sincerely, I hope the new antibiotics will work and you feel better soon. Why could they not have told you about the pneumonia before. I give up with some medical people. My doctor is the opposite he tells all, even things I would rather he wouldn't tell me. He also deals with things very promptly. I shall give this a couple more days and then go to the GP. At the moment all I will get is 'It's a virus', as I have only had it for a few days.
Neti, Well I hope you are my friend, but not on CB. I had a peep at the AB bit and saw your photo. I am registered with FB but incognito and only use it to spy on people's photos. A lot of my relations use FB and I look at their photos to keep in touch. I would like to use it to spy on Master LL, but he keeps everything private including his photos and his friends. He knows me and my spying activities too well!!
I recognised you because of a photo in a Magazine that your daughter sent in - remember ? And 'Spain' confirmed it. I can't get into the AB though because I am not going to invite myself!!
It's not actually a bad day here Robinia and now the ground is damp it would be ideal for putting out those bulbs. Touch wood - the sciatica is not too bad today. Resting seems to be doing the trick. Ha ha to your new method of transport~!!!
xx
