Would be interested in hearing opinions about which is the best strimmer to buy. Have read many reviews and Black & Decker, Flymo, Bosch all have bad reviews.
Assuming we are talking electric,i was always anti flymo (still am where mowers are concerned) but i have had a flymo strimmer for over 15 years, bit battered around but it still keeps going...every year i say im going to buy a new one but it keeps on going...
its the line coil feed that I always had trouble with, it never worked properly on any model despite much tinkering and fixing. I now have one that has a replaceable plastic blade which is much better. Mine is a lightweight one for small jobs, if I wanted one for tougher jobs I would definitely go for a petrol engine.
I have used a Bosch cordless in our medium sized garden for nearly all this season and never had to fiddle with the line feeder once!
Sorry I can't vouch for Flymos - I owned many of them previously with poor reliability and would not buy one again. However, maybe I was just unlucky....
