Mine is hanging its head now and decidedly past it, do I leave it alone to go to seed or can I behead it and leave somewhere dry?

Watch the birds eating the seeds...

Leave it for the birds Mags, they love the seeds
You could save a few seeds for next year and leave the rest for the birds.
Sounds a bit like the first Mr Craft.............

Thanx for all your answers, lol, will behead and leave for birds I think
I grew some last year and had a good crop.
Wait til the backs o the heads turn yellow, the seeds should be stripy at this stage and easy to dislodge with your thumbs, if you can further dry them out, somewhere sunny then all the better.

I saved the vast majority for the birds and also roasted some for human consumption, a fiddly job but the taste was very good. I followed a recipe that I saw on youtube.
