I am trying to grow a bay tree in a large pot. I bought it as a plug, and it now measures 2ft appx. I have noticed some of the veins in the leaves have turned a rusty brwn colour - also gets sticky on surface of leaves. Is it dead/dying, or can I solve these issues? Any help welcome.

It sounds like it could be 'Scale Insect', this can be treated with a suitable spray from a garden centre. Neam oil usually does the job.
