Does anyone have one of THESE or something similar? I need something light to tidy up plants & the smaller shrubs - I get a man in for the big stuff! :o) I wondered if it will only cut very soft new growth or if it would also be handy to cut down perennials that might be a bit woody?

Right ..that's it ...I've had enough now ....look behind you Vinny ..........
I'm moving to Wooly
Dawgs.

Actually it's not all that bad here either, Shaney... They've got some tables out again...

Oh wow that's absolutely lovely Vinny, yes, I'll marry you <oh **** he hasn't asked - yet!> What's that chasm in the foreground in the last picture, is that where you hide your weed or what. Venus de Milo on the roof, ha ha ha, does she spin in the wind like a weather vane, did she lose her arms in the Wooly wind, ha ha... Seriously: It's lovely, truly lovely.

Do the dogs wake you up at that hour, Woofy??

Bye jno... see you soon...

(Oh she isn't on the roof is she, she's on the... the... not on the roof.)

lullaby for jno

...and the rest of yous dead herrings! (Wasn't me said that!)
lol this is what the chasm does kip yo (:O)
Morning Biddybabes.
Tis a lovely morning.
must shoot off to work.Catch you later..have a good trip jno.
in memory of Esbjorn Svensson yo (*_*)
Morning, dawgs. Goodness, Vinny, you've got a better grip on the Swedish music scene than I do... Forgot to say, those Vikings you dug up the other night were good, I agree. Not well-known, as Esbjrn Svensson was. For the rest of yous, who don't read Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet or whatever it is that him down in Devon is reading, Esbjrn Svensson was a jazz musician who drowned this Saturday. Perhaps the YouTube clip says something about it, but I wouldn't know, I get a pink strip saying "This video is not available in your country"....!!!!!!! / The Chasm (sounds like a thriller) - oh it's lighting. (Unless you have a super duper flash on your camera.) You've done a good job on that garden Vinny, it looks positively Mediterranean. <Kit thinks to herself I wouldn't be surprised if it's the abysmal lights that attract them sh1tehawks in the first place...>

speaking of mediterranean...

Off to buy a suitcase, dawgs!

S'up, dawgs. <In hindsight, I should maybe have added some dead biddy herrings floating belly up in Neti's pool in above post> Hope everyone's reasonably okay. Or better yet out having too much fun to to be bothered to chat on here.

This is the suitcase I'm hopelessly in love with but it's too expensive for me, but I did order another one in the same Samsonite line - extremely lightweight and with four wheels, very easy too handle I'm hoping. Can't find a picture, I suspect the colour is brand new - a beautiful, calm blue verging on bluish grey.

I'll be visiting an old friend of mine who lives in the country and they have cats and KITTENS and horses - I'll be on cloud nine. The kittens were born this Friday so they'll be just about cuddlable by the time I get there (in three or four weeks, don't know yet, depends on when my suitcase arrives!) The kittens have the same mother (I think) as the one I'm holding on the photo I posted here last summer. My friend has five kids - two with her present husband - and the youngest three still live at home. We've known each other for... what... must be more than thirty years? <What am I asking yous for>

Here's one of the singers that Esbjrn Svensson used to work with: rebecka

Morning folks ...i've been up since sparrows ....there's this seagull who always want's to have a conversation with me at 4AM as he perches right outside the bedroom window .In spite of me telling him to piddle off he just keeps laughing at me ...
I am orf ...of to London
see you later ..take care xxx

oh, I'm here early too this morning...just missed you there shaney...have a safe journey, hope all goes well...be thinking of you xx

I'll be back with the rest of you shabby lot tout de suite....
Question Author
.......<whoosh>

Here I is, not very tout de suite I know - had to pop to see a friend who's having a birthday. Right, what's occurred?

mmmmm, I see.... I'm only away for a day & The Swede & The Hippy are now joined in holy monotony (The Swippies... The Sweepies?) & shaney's moved in with them....oh s0d it, what the heck, move over I'm on my way too. I'll have to buy a new suitcase, oddly enough this one caught my eye the other day. hehe, how cheesy is that? ..but at least you'd see it as it disappeared over the horizon to the wrong country.
Is it ok if I bring someone to balance things up a bit? Where's he got to? tut...
c'mon! you're late as always

hang on.....<Kit's leaving Vinny in 3 weeks?!>

.....sorry Clive, I'll be fine on my own, another time maybe....
shabby lot...? leaving vinny...? / Aww I love that suitcase Robinia, I think you should get it.

Don't know if you'll be staying overnight in London or if you'll be back home tonight Shaney but here's the most beautiful music ever written, for you and your friend, the adagio from Mozart's Clarinet Concerto. I was hoping to find it performed by Thea King but no such luck on YouTube. But this one's pretty wicked too. I hope this day has been a good one for you Shaney (you know how I mean), meeting the friends of your friend, all who loved her.

More errands today, I'd better get going if I'm to go on a trip a month from now, ha ha... Never said I was quick... Right, now where's the shower... Sorry if this is upsetting to anyone, he he he, but it's a sunny day here and the tables are out outside the kiosk in my park and there's a potted plant on each table - I'm loving my new view!

lovely music Kit

oh crikey! I forgot to say...yes, it really is a great Mediterranean style space you've created Vinny!! those walls will be lovely when you've painted some sunflowers on 'em :o)
<show a Swede a bit of whitewash & they're anybody's>

I see Vin's had to take an extra job to support Sweedie in the style to which she's becoming accustomed

but you'd better keep an eye on him Kit

Went to do normal shopping and this is the meat section, not a thing apart from one rabbit, which I do not eat! I think the strike is beginning to hit here. Mind you on Sunday we met up with marm and her husband and went to a little known restaurant in the hills and ate up a storm, the fresh food portions are huge! and yesterday went out with daughter also into the country and also ate huge portions - brought home 12 uneaten large lamb chops, but from now on it's the slide into hunger!!!
Afternoon All. Hope you are all ok today.
You're worrying me Neti my son and his wife went to Menorca for a fortnight last Sunday. And he loves his chips.!! He'll probably come back 2 stone lighter.
Been to Tai Chi today. The teacher is retiring on Aug 12th so that is our last lesson. We're looking round for another teacher but I don't expect one that will do the same form as we have been learning. There are dozens of them. We do one called Chen Man Ching.
After Tai Chi I went for lunch with my 2 friends to Morley Hayes. It is at a Golf Course near Derby. Very nice. I had a lovely Home made Salmon Fish Cake with Salad.
Mr T'bag is coming round tonight to watch a footie match.
We had a good weekend. On Saturday we went to see my niece play in her band. It was for a charity called the Stickler Syndrome. some of my family suffer from it. I've got a feeling I've told you this before, anyway , sorry if so, it's an age thing. My sister organised it and they raised between 400 and 500.
My local paper's just come so I'm off for a cuppa and a read.
Take care all whatever you are up to

Oh yes forgot so say - Lovely garden Vinny you're a lot better than my gardener was. Very mediterranean feel about it. Mine's more your Old English with lipins, sweet peas and clematis and lots of wild flowers (well weeds actually) :o)

See yer later 'gater(s)!!
Keep your knickers on your wig, Robinia! (They've got some funny idioms up north.) So I make one small pass at Vinny after seeing his Mediterranean garden - what's the harm? He hasn't said it, not in so many words, but quite honestly Robinia I have got what he wants and I'm sure you can see it...? <Kit adopts calming voice as the poor woman is clearly beside herself> ...but hey if it's that important to you we'll draw up an even-handed schedule and listen Vinny you can have Sundays off and everything. (For church.) Okay? Are we all happy? What do you mean Vinny you "know a few biddies from Rate My Drawings" as well? How many? oh...well... yes... We're gonna have to have another look at that schedule I guess...

This it, Jude? Looks so lovely. I often long to take Tai Chi up again but I remember my frustration so vividly at not being able to do it at home between lessons (because of how small my place is - I kept walking into the bookcases.) Anyway Jude there's lots and lots of it on YouTube, short form and long, sword form and whatnot.

I saw the strangest thing the other day, a biddy all dressed in white - a nice linen suit - doing Nordic walking (see Wiki if you don't know it) in the middle of town and wearing a feminine kind of pith helmet with what looked very much like a mosquito net on it and wrapped all around her head. There was something decidedly colonial about her; I think she must have been a British ghost from India??
Mornin....hope yer all okay.
you should be okay now netti...the strikes over.!! ive gotta go search for a petrol station that hasnt run out....otherwise its a few days off.Ive showed you my garden...now I want to see your bushes....(:O)
just seen an advert,if you been useing vibrating hand held devices in the last 30 years you can get compensation girls.
hehe..!
hope your day went okay shaney. My mate who I mentioned before passed away and the funerals on friday.
anyways catch you later...bye pete
Aaaw that's sad Vinny ..Sorry to hear about your friend.
It's bl00dy awful when your mates start popping off .
Goodish day I suppose yesterday ..at least the sun was shining for her .Huge turnout and we had a good journey there and back ..well you would if you are in a fast car with "put your foot down Picky ".
It was nice to see all the old crowd but of course we are all getting older ,and spent a lot of time talking about creaking bones ,pensions ,bus passes and the price of food !
I was fine until the end and the curtains went across and they played Unforgettable by Nat King Cole ,then I lost it completely ...
I 'll see yas later xxx
Question Author
... rustling through in me pacamac, it's awful here, wild wet 'n windy....really depressing. And it's not good news week in here either is it? ....so sorry about your mate Vinny - it seems everytime you turn around as you get older someone has departed....very sad.

I think you did mention that Jude 'cos I'd never heard of it, it sounds unpleasant & well done to all who raised the funds.

I'm a bit worried for my brother - the res. home he's in has just changed ownership & you never know what, if any, changes might happen to upset the applecart. I can't begin to imagine how it would be to have to start all over again, for him or for us.

I hope you're not fainting with hunger neti...I'll cosmically order a food parcel to be dropped on you...

oh phooey....we need some sunshine to cheer us all up

-(just spotted you shaney as I previewed x)
