Cordless Mini Trimmers
Does anyone have one of THESE or something similar? I need something light to tidy up plants & the smaller shrubs - I get a man in for the big stuff! :o) I wondered if it will only cut very soft new growth or if it would also be handy to cut down perennials that might be a bit woody?

and no, the strike isn't over here, and of course, once it is over, it'll take ages to get back to normal cos there are throwing away millions of litres of milk every day and food, so we'll have high prices for a long time. We don't get to decide what to eat, just what we can get in the shops, very warlike!
Was your do a funeral also (No I don't get time to catch up here) I started losing my friends at 17!
Loved El Vin's garden, just what I would like but we have a big area of land and will not waste precious water on it, so what grows, grows and what doesn't doesn't, if you catch my drift. Why is it that creepers and weeds do not need water?

Bush for a garden, garden for a bush, s'pose you can't say any fairer than that, Vinny - it's a deal!
The strike's over? Neti O'Hara will never go hungry again? (we won't mention the twelve little lambs ever again) That's good, it did sound disquieting, particularly the water situation you described, Neti. / Nope, saw your post just now, Neti - oh well...
They've finished digging the park up, it wasn't just for the water pipes to the kiosk but also they were making new paths - to the kiosk! - so that people won't trample the grass I suppose. This means I should feel free to put new curtains up - except the windows are now kinda dirty again... from all that digging. If I'd known they were turning the whole park upside down I would have waited with the window cleaning, sigh. Won't do it again now, I'll just let the curtains create a distraction, ha ha - they are quite distractive, with parrots and things...
So sorry about your mate, Vinny. It's quite a while since you mentioned him, I was hoping he was doing alright. Okay so now the Mozart is for him too. That adagio is like life itself to me. / Shaney I can understand why you lost it at "Unforgettable". It's become "popular" for funerals and rightly so, it really allows you to feel in touch with that person for a few precious minutes.
Oh Robinia do they keep changing everything all the time in your country too, it's as if those politicians are from outer space and have no parents, no children and no illnesses, no human experience. Fingers crossed they'll leave your brother's place alone.
Better brush my hair and put some pants on before I hang the curtains...

New curtains ended up in the washing machine - they reeked of pesticide or whatever - but at least I've fixed the new curtain rods where they should be so that's half the bottle won. Shaney does the German expression Schwedische Gardinen mean anything to you?
Don't know which curtains to use to stop Robinia from reading my mind though - she does it all the time. The radio was playing The Ark's Absolutely No Decorum earlier today and I was trying to remember whether I'd posted it here or not (but I think I have.)
Hello New Neti, not that I noticed anything wrong with the old one, but how did you accomplish that? No don't tell me - "less food." There's always a catch in the contract isn't there... (Seems New Neti got a standing ovation from Vinny!)

Hello All . Sorry to hear about your friend Vinny I've been to more funerals in the past 2 years than ever before and next week I'm going to a memorial service for a friend who died recently in the Isle of Man. He was a well know Scrambler in the old days and he was at my engagement party and wedding.
Kit Yes that is the exact form of Tai Chi that I do. It''s so relaxing. I shall really miss going if I can't find another teacher to go to.
Hope you are all ok and that you are surviving Neti
The weather has been rubbish today. I think we've been promised some sunshine tomorrow so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
See yer soon :o)

hinter swedische gardinen Before today I had never heard that expression, Shaney. Swedish Wikipedia says it probably stems from the nineteenth century, when our steel industry was illustrious.
Ooops yes I'd say your instincts are probably good when it comes to Frank Sinatra, Robinia. I grew up with him as it were and love that song since childhood, but a couple of years ago I saw a documentary about him where he was portrayed more or less as a sociopath and I believe he probably was. But that song...
Trying to understand what your scrambling friend did, Jude - did he encrypt information during the war?

And definitely not anything to do with the war....( that did make me splutter my weeties Kit)...S'pose it could be said I'm a scrambler...I can take a perfectly good language & turn it into complete & incomprehensible piffle...
now, will it...or won't it?

grrrr, I'll be glad when the footy has taken off....right off my screen! how much longer? and now you've set me off with the durannies Vincent so I'll have to listen to Save a Prayer at least 3 times while I contemplate the meaning of life....
