Some years ago all the big DIY stores like Homebase, Focus ect. were selling coconut plants which looked like a coconut husk laid in compost with a stem and leaves on, I have since looked everywhere for one of these plants without luck, I have asked in stores and also large garden centres but staff just look at you as if your light has gone out... any ideas !!!

they are still around but i have not seen any since the summer. Keep looking, they will be back. I think they are more a summer thing due to them liking high light and warmth.

hi i don"t know where you live, but this plant your talking about, i know exactly what you mean, they sell them at wyvale garden centre, ferndown, near bournemouth, its a coconut sitting on top of the soil with a very long stem, with approx 3 to four leaves on it, it looks very much like a palm.
