Are there any which are more potent than others which I can buy from a DIY store or are they pretty much the same?

Shotguns and Pitchforks are pretty good for rats ..
But Bait food is much the same .. most are goint to be about the same.

My Grandfather used to, yep .. on his farm.
Collie dog used to corner them, then they freeze.

Or get an air rifle (I also grew up on farms, it was good target practice)
