What do I do about the loo

I had some friends round (a bit of a party) and my loo is in a terrible state. To clean it (below the water surface) I've tried bleach and all manner but can't get it sparkling. Someone mentioned coca cola, Ive ried it and left it overnight but to no avail. Can you suggest anything at all? Thanks.

try scooping out as much of the water as possible before using loads of a proprietory cleaner with a super strength limescale remover...leave overnight then attack it with a scrubbing brush if that doesn'twork flush a few times and use white vinegar leaving it on for a while before scrubbing again. bleach only makes the stains go white doesn't get rid of them

As rowan has said - particularly important if you have hard water. Lots of people reach for chlorine-based bleach but it's unsuitable for many cleaning jobs as well as being rather dangerous.

My toilet was like this I thought the enamel had worn away cos it would never come clean but my mum said try the Harpic Cleaner in the BLACK bottle. It worked beautifully. I scooped out most of the water with a ladle and them put the cleaner directly on and left for a bit them scrubbed and it came up sparkling.

When I move into this house and tried cleaning the loo, it was dreadful. I lifted a piece of lime out eventually the shape of the bit where the water came. Don't think it was ever cleaned.
