We bought some from £1 shop. Minimal instructions on the box and only one out of the four work.

This may sound daft but should the lights be fully charged [with the lights switched off for the first few nights]? I realise they need to be charged first, just wondered if it's like other rechargeable batteries - a new mobile needs full charging before use etc.

Thanks Moonraker, I'll give that a go.Good Av by the way!
Hi kia cat, with our ones we had to leave them turned on and they started working after a day or two of decent weather. I tried putting them out with them turned off but after a few days there was nothing so tried the other way and they worked. Maybe different types work differently.
You did remove the small piece of tape from between the storage battery and its contact didn't you. They won't work until that's removed...
1 out of 4, sounds about right; take the odd one back for replacement.

I'd not bother about charging first. Long term they are only going to get whatever charge they get during the day, to use up at night.

I have a few of these, they are ok but a bit of a disappointment. Never seem to go for that long into the night, and duringthe winter it is a very short on period.
Oh re-read, only 1 works !

Mmm... well either as mentioned you've not ensured the battery is making contact, or not switched on, or you can go back and complain. They usually come (fully) charged.
