Phoneline problem

We have recently only been able to make outgoing calls on or landline....if someone tries to phone us, it just goes dead. I can make phone calls and i have internet access through the same line.

Ive also tried using another phone but the same happens. This started about 2 weeks ago then seemed to fix itself for a few days only for the problem to return.

Tried the BT online troubleshooter but i need to disconnect all internet, so that's not really a lot of good.

Any suggestions what it could be ?

Have you got a Phone Filter connected as part of Phone/Broadband connection to BT Wall socket ?

You need to do a bit of troubleshooting. Do you know where your master socket is, its the first socket that BT connection is to, if so take cover of and inside you will find another phone socket - plug a phone into this and see if it works for incoming calls.
