To decorate the main bedroom of a bog standard, bay windowed, terrace house.
Currently the walls and woodwork are cream and will be painted white. Prep work to the woodwork has already been done. The ceiling is not being painted...

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.So they will have to put two coats on the woodwork all round the bay window and the door, plus skirting board and if you are having white on the walls you will need two coats to do it properly. And when all that's done, the ceiling will look dreadful and you'll wish that had been done - in fact you'll have to have it done or it will drive you potty. I think it will take longer than you imagine if you want it to look good.
you say that, alba, an old house of mine, built in cob, was covered in an oil-based paint until they realised the error of their ways. When I moved in, they still had big damp issues as to "aid" the process, they were using Calor Gas stoves in these wonderful inglenooks, rather than lettinga good wood or coal fire gradually "die" through the night.
