Scrap metal

Keep hearing about the money in scrap. I have some old pans & 2 single bed bases made from sprung metal, can I sell them for scrap? If so, do you have to take off handles etc and sort into different types of metal?

If you sort them into different metals (aluminium, steel etc.) you will get a better price. If you don't sort them you will get a "mixed metal" price which is the lowest of the low. Remove any plastic handles and wood etc.

OK, so I just take them along in a carrier bag? no minimum quantities? OK if pans are coloured or grease coated?

The cleaner they are the more likely the scrapman will take them. Don't expect much for a small quantity.
