Has Someone Got Room In Their Heart And Home For This Poor Dog?

I have fostered dogs for this small charity and I hope the Ed will let me put out this plea for one of their longer term residents. The cold weather is here and Copper, a 14-year-old Doberman/X is about to spend his second winter in freezing kennels. He has waited 18 months for a home and is still waiting and it is taking its toll on his health as you can see if you click on page 8 on the following link.

If you can't adopt him permanently then could you offer him a foster home for a while? He would be so grateful. The ideal placement would be as an only pet as he doesn't much like other dogs or cats and he does have separation anxiety. On the plus side he loves people, is undemanding, enjoys his walks which would ideally be in a low dog density area. He is very happy to snooze the day away in front of the fire afterwards.

I can post an adoption form or a foster form for anyone who feels they could help Copper, or you can find it on the website. Thanks for reading. X

When you think of all the people who might be saying 'oh, lets get a puppy for Christmas', this really is sad.

How sad that 3 hours after I posted this nobody has commented.
I'd have him if I could, ladybirder.I hope you get a more helpful response soon.
Only just seen this ladybirder as only just home from work.

Even if Mr Boo said yes, which id very much doubt, I couldn't as ive a dog AND a cat.

Really hope, he and the many many others like him find a home. It'd be nice if he got one for Christmas.
Sorry ladybirder, I have my hands full with a border collie. I'm sure someone will come along, who couldn't help fall in love with copper.

Oh bless you all, I was feeling hurt on Copper's behalf. I also would take him in a heartbeat if I could. He really doesn't ask for much.
It's such a pity that he can't be in a home with other dogs, I'd have him like a shot.

I hope he will find a good home soon.
I wish I could take him in but I have a Rotweiller/lurcher cross and he would not accept another dog. I have a nice thick warm blanket going spare if that will help to keep him warm until he finds a loving home.
I already have puddy tats, but thought of my brother and his wife who love all animals especially dogs and live in Surrey, they have always had dogs from Battersea, but alas as Copper needs to be the only dog they cant have him as they already have 2 dogs. :(

I did read it, but i have dogs, cats and children. If it was just me, i would certainly consider it. Hope he finds his family soon xx
Where's ratter, when you need him?!
We need to keep bumping this up into latest posts. There must be someone who could offer him a nice home.
grandpajoe is looking for another dog. Maybe he will see this later.
This is breaking my heart, he looks such a loving sole. There must be somebody who could give him a loving home. Let me know if he needs a blanket and I will send it to him, it is double bed size.

It doesn't have to be an Adoption, a Foster would be good. Let's face it, at 14, he ain't going to be around for that long.

Thanks Quizz I'll remember you next time a call goes out for blankets.

I'm sure Ratter would be wonderful pixie but of course he has dogs already.
Not sure what he would be like off lead - Copper not Ratter:-)

Tilly yes if we can keep this going so the maximum number of people see it that would be good.I know it's only a faint chance that somebody on here could help him but it's better than no chance.

I'll keep answering then, Ladybirder.
Let me know about the blanket. I am sending some off to Battersea soon but will keep one back just in case.
