At least here in the western U.S., it's much to late. Firstly, I don't think one could find a supplier, secondly, the turf fields from whence the cut turf originates have all gone to sleep for the approaching winter.

Freshly laid turf requires and inordinate amount of water… nearly every day, for at least 2 weeks following installation… which would be difficult to complete between now and first frost, no?
Yes grass is dormant now it would not grow, wait till spring.
I would leave it until next spring now if I were you, Groupie.
where abouts do you live Groupie as it can make a difference I would prefer to lay turf now if you have prepare the ground and you use scaffold boards to walk on rather than the soil
