I was on an American website where latex paint was mention, would that be what we call vinyl.

Thanks Boxy, I did see that link when googling but I've just found another that said there are two different types of emulsion, vinyl and just emulsion. Very confusing.

I'm presuming it is the vinyl as that suggests there is some kind of plastic in it and latex is plastic isn't it?

W used vinyl emulsion when we want a nice silky matt finish, I tend not to use any other sort.
